Two nights ago, me and Tim went to play poker at some dude's house. I find that I've improved a lot since the early underground days at Wizard's. Unfortunately I lost all the money I had set aside for Poker (R50). The reason being this:
The game was no limits texas hold'em. The flop, turn and river cards made it very unlikely that anyone would have a straight or a flush, meaning that a full house would be the highest hand, and three of a kind next. I had pocket fives and there was a five on the table. Considering the community cards it was a decent hand. But I had to come up against Tim. We were both trying to get guy no. 3, who wisely folded. Then neither of us would back down because we had both spent more than half of our money on this one hand, and the betting just went higher and higher, until I was all in. I went all in because if I had folded, I wouldn't have lasted long with the amount of money I would have had left. No buying power. So when it came to it, I had trip fives, but Tim had trip kings. I call it bad luck. Next time I'll clean him out.
